This was a killer hike! Last Thursday, Anthony and I decided to go to Lookout Mountain and hike. The hike is labeled moderate to advanced, but we figured that we’re both in decent shape, so we could do it.
Of course, the altitude is still giving me breathing problems. But how bad could it be?
Bad. Really bad.
Fortunately, we’d had our belongings delivered to the apartment we’re renting–even though it’s not finished yet–so I had my trail runners and a jacket. No more slipping around in flat-soled sneakers for me!
The hike was gorgeous, but it was REALLY hard for me. It took us just about 4 hours round-trip due to a lot of stopping and gasping for air on the way up.
Going down was fine, and pretty fast.
I loved the hike–after I’d finished it. I might have wanted to give up somewhere in the middle.
We did get to see deer! They were pretty close to us, but by the time I got my camera turned on, they’d decided to run away down the hill.
And how amazing does para-gliding look? I’d wanted to do it when I lived in Germany, but never made it happen. Maybe I’ll have to do it in Colorado!
