Remember when we bought a house? And then painted everything, re-did the kitchen, re-did the dining room, re-did the bathroom (oops, guess I didn’t blog that), landscaped the yard, and were just settling in?
Yeah, we’ve moved.
Anthony somewhat jokingly threw in an application for a job in Aspen. Within about an hour of submitting it, he got a call to set up an interview for the next week.
We took a mid-week jaunt to Aspen, cashed in some credit card points to stay at the St. Regis (long review short: not worth actually paying for), explored the area and checked out the real-estate market, and waited to hear back on whether he got the job.
He was offered the job within 48 hours.
The next few weeks were a whirlwind of trying to secure housing in the valley, renting out our house, packing, and finishing up last-minute renos.
We now live in tiny 600 sq. foot cabin with tilt-y floors, a saggy roof, a wood-burning stove, and mountain views. We have deer in our backyard, can walk to fishing, hiking, and even the library and restaurants.
Life is simpler, and it’s good.
